Tempering

Why your tension keeps coming back

You stretch it. It feels better for a while. Then it's back.

There's a simple explanation.

Fascia is protective tissue.

It wraps every muscle and organ in your body, and its job is to protect what's underneath. So it contracts when it's pulled on.

You didn't fail at stretching. You were using force on something that answers force by tightening.

There's a condition where it lets go on its own.

Deeply relaxed and gently engaged — both at the same moment. That combination is unusual, and most people never stumble into it.

Nothing gets stretched. Nothing gets forced. You stay deeply relaxed while gently engaging the tension, and let the body unwind.

It's called Tempering. A few minutes, a chair, and you do it yourself.

Most people come for something physical. A fair number notice more than that.
